In Zimbabwe, economic challenges persistently hinder broad access to quality education. A significant number of children face the arduous task of traversing over seven kilometers daily to reach their schools. Disturbingly, the rise of certain African Initiated/Independent denominations, reminiscent of the Masowe cults, perpetuates detrimental views against formal education, thereby depriving their members and their offspring of educational opportunities. Among the 3,200 primary and secondary institutions, a sizable portion, especially in rural areas, grapple with subpar infrastructure and a dearth of adequately trained educators. Furthermore, there is a pressing need to address the prevailing scarcity of essential learning materials.
